Panaad sales up 72%
with P18.43 million

The 24 th Panaad sa Negros Festival earned a total of P18.4 million in gross sales, an increase of close to 72 percent from last year's record of P10.7 million, in Bacolod City.

As of 12 noon yesterday, total gross sales was P18, 434,003.20, surpassing last year's record of P10,798,017 after the 9-day celebration of the provincial festival.

The highest grosser came from the local government units, at P9,988.455.25, with the biggest contribution of sales the City of Cadiz that earned P1.31M. .moremoremore

NegOcc preparing
for silver festival

After the success of the just-concluded 24th Panaad sa Negros Festival yesterday, the provincial government has started to gear up for the silver year of the “Festival of Festivals” next year.

Ma. Lina Sanogal, Pana-ad Festival executive director, who thanked everyone who had participated and helped in the success of this year's Panaad sa Negros Festival, said Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. had already instructed them to prepare early for the 25th edition of the festivity.

Sanogal said they will schedule an assessment, maybe next week, with the different local government unit coordinators to start the planning for the silver edition. moremoremore

City septage ordinance
amendments proposed

The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Dumaguete has approved on second reading an ordinance amending the Dumaguete City Septage Management System ordinance, regarding the payment of the P2 user fee.

The present user fee of P2 per cubic meter, intended for desludging septic tanks of water concessionaires serviced by the Dumaguete City Water District in a given billing period was reduced to P1.50 centavos per cubic meter of water consumed.

Another amendment is for the exemption of water concessionaires from paying the user fee of P1.50 if said concessionaires don't have proper septic tanks, or who use communal septic tanks such as those in the public markets..
