"There are so many opportunities in Negros. There is so much potential for Bacolod. And we are ready and excited to tap them all, that's why we are here. Now is the time for Bacolod and your entire province to shine.”
That was the statement ofKevin Tan, son of tycoon Andrew Tan who chairs Megaworld, during his visit to Bacolod City yesterday.
Kevin Tan, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls head, was in the city to personally check on the ongoing development of Megaworld'sNorthill Gateway project along the Airport Access Road.
The 53-hectare township project, which is part of the company's P35-billion investment in Negros Occidental, will be home to Forbes Hill, the province's most upscale residential village, and the Northill Town Center, a lifestyle mall that takes The Ruins as its inspiration, he said.
“Our Northill Gateway project is on track and within the next three years, you will see a new lifestyle district in this part of the city," Tan said.
Hopefully by next year the first phase of the Northill Town Center will be completed, and the welcome marker to Bacolod, which will be a tourism attraction, he said.
The township is located right at the border of Bacolod and Talisay cities.
Also targeted for next year is the launching of the clubhouse and the turnover of lots at Forbes and Hill, with development of the subdivision currently underway.
A grand giant fountain with a garden at the entrance of the township that is expected to be a tourists attraction, is targeted to be completed next year, Tan also said.*CPG
