The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan of President Rodrigo Duterte is not collecting money for membership in the party or to ensure one's appointment as a barangay official with the expected postponement of the village polls in October, Yves Akol, Negros Island Region PDP Laban secretary general, said yesterday.
Akolsaid a Bacolod barangay captain had reported to a radio station that five people approached him soliciting an amount to ensure his appointment to a barangay post after October.
“He has my number, he could have had the decency to call me up first…I feel slighted,” Akol said, pointing out that the barangay official could not even identify the persons allegedly soliciting money.
