Sy eyes Bacolod as site for
university, expansion

Hans Sy, son of billionaire Henry Sy, who has been named the country's richest man, said Bacolod City is one of the areas in the Philippines they are eyeing to put up a university.

“We have plans to build about 10 schools in 15 years,”Hans Sy said during a brief interview with the local media.

Although Bacolod is one of the areas where they will be putting up the school project, Sy said he cannot really say if it is going to be among the first few. moremoremore

Malacañang yesterday wished the country's Miss Universe candidate Maxine Medina the best of luck as she competes in the beauty pageant at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, today.

Brgy captain in drugs
watchlist shot dead

An incumbent barangay captain in Ayungon, Negros Oriental, was shot dead by unidentified suspects at around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

An initial police report said that Junry Depillo, 37, barangay captain of Tibyawan, Ayungon town, succumbed to bullet wounds after the suspects fired at him in the barangay.

Two bystanders were also hit by stray bullets, one at the lower abdomen and the other on the right elbow, the sketchy police report said. ..
