Degamo sues

Suspended Gov. Roel Degamo has filed a case for damages against Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales, Deputy Ombudsman Paul Clemente, and all others involved in the decision of cases against him this year.

His legal counsel, Richard Enojo, said he advised Degamo to file the complaint for selective justice against the persons involved after what he called “the third blunder” was committed and such complaint had been considered as one of the attachments in the impeachment complaint filed against Morales.

In fact, Degamo was requested to submit evidences on the anomalous decisions of the Ombudsman against him, he said. moremoremore

Moises Padilla Vice Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo said yesterday that she and her husband may spend Christmas Day in jail.

Yulo and her husband, Felix Mathias Segundo Yulo III, are facing charges for illegal possession of explosives before the Negros Occidental Provincial Prosecutor's Office.

The arrest of Yulo and her husband stemmed from the alleged recovery of two fragmentation grenades, three .45 caliber pistols with ammunition, and alleged shabu from the Mitsubishi Strada vehicle they were riding and intercepted at a police checkpoint Tuesday night in Brgy. ‘uptrend' economy, business growth

Mayor Evelio Leonardia said that Bacolod has now an “uptrend” economy as it continues to lure big businesses to the city.

In an interview Wednesday, Leonardia said that although it has a smaller population compared to other highly-urbanized cities around the country, and lower real property taxes before it was amended, businesses continue to grow.
