Gasataya pushes
for more flyovers

Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya yesterday said he will follow up with Secretary Mark Villar of the Department of Public Works and Highways the additional flyovers he has requested for Bacolod City, which have been included by the DPWH in the list of 10 flyovers to be constructed all over the country.

The DPWH is just waiting for the approval of the National Economic Development Authorityfor the implementation of these flyover projects, he said.

Gasataya said he has requested for two additional flyovers aside from the two existing ones, and he hopes the papers will come out next year so the project will be started in 2019. moremoremore

No Negros SOMO

There will be no suspension of military operations (SOMO) against the New People's Army in Negros, this time.

The declaration was made yesterday by Maj. Gen. Jon Aying, commanding general of the Army's 3rd Infantry Division, who supervises Army troops stationed in Western and Central Visayas, including Negros Island.

In previous years, SOMO had been observed by both government security forces and the NPA. .moremoremore

SAP Fund for sugar workers
in Neg. Occ. reaches P128-M

The Social Amelioration Program Fund for sugar workers, millers, and planters for Negros Occidental is around P128 million this year.

Based on records presented yesterday by the Department of Labor and Employment provincial office, a total of P128,015,868.27 was collected and distributed to local planters associations of sugar milling districts in the province.
