to promote Negros

Negros Occidental officials led by Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson Jr. were in Clark, Pampanga, yesterday to further forge closer ties between the two provinces.

Asisterhood agreement between the two provinces was inked byMarañona nd Pampanga Gov. Lilia Pineda at the provincial Capitolin Bacolod City on Friday, and the rites were repeated at Clark yesterday.

“The mood is one of excitement. We are looking forward to future engagement with Pampanga. Gov. Pineda has even volunteered to advertise Negros Occidental to the whole of Central Luzon,” Lacson said. moremoremore

Motorcycle deaths
in Bacolod up 79%

Motorcycle accident deaths in Bacolod City increased by 79 percent from January to November this year, compared to the same period last year, Traffic Management Unit records show.

Eighteen persons died in traffic accidents involving motorcycles in 2016, and 25 this year, the TMU reported.

Traffic accidents in Bacolod from January to November 2017 rose by 21 percent compared to the same period last year. .moremoremore

Bacolod-Silay Airport upgrade,
budget hotels to boost tourism

Modernization and upgrade of the Bacolod-Silay International Airport and the creation of more budget hotels will boost the number of tourist arrivals in Bacolod City, a new study by a global research firm said.

In their recent research on the country's property sector last week, Colliers International suggested that Bacolod City should increase its number of budget hotels, or 2 to 3-star hotels, to accommodate foreign tourists visiting.

Joey Bondoc, research manager of the Colliers International-Philippines said in an interview yesterday that with the eyed upgrade of the Bacolod-Silay Airport, Bacolod could be a jump-off point of tourists going to Luzon and Mindanao, apart from Cebu. ..
