Ferrers seeking P5M
damages from Huelar

Former Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer and his wife, Rep. Juliet Marie Ferrer (Neg. Occ., 4 th District), executed a complaint affidavit yesterday for libel and perjury against a jailed Bacolod barangay captain who linked them to illegal drugs.

They will file the complaint affidavit against Manuel “Maui” Huelar Jr. with other evidence before the Bacolod City Prosecutors Office this week, their lawyer, Arnel Lapore, said.

The complaint affidavit asks that Huelar be made to pay P2.5 million in moral and exemplary damages to each of the Ferrers, for a total of P5 million, their lawyer added.

‘Capitol park will be
open by Christmas'

Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday assured that the Capitol Lagoon Park in Bacolod City will be reopened in a week, in time for Christmas.

Workers were seen yesterday mowing the grass and cleaning the park.

Marañon said they are asking Ayala Land Inc. to complete several of its commitments before the reopening of the park. .moremoremore

OBO inspects BBWI plant

The Office of the Building Official will impose additional charges on the Bacolod Bulk Water Inc. if it constructed additional facilities in its plant in Brgy. Granada, Bacolod City, that were not included in its original plan, Building Official Isidro Sun Jr. said yesterday.

Sun said the OBO inspected the site yesterday for issuance of occupancy permit, and to check on its compliance with other requirements.

Nestor Velez, head of the inspection team, informed him that there are a few more requirements that BBWI needs to comply with since it has installed some additional facilities, he said.. .
