TCB Auto Parts merchandising dropped the upset axe on Case 1H Agriculture to advance to the championship round with a 91-84 victory in the ABC -Crown Agri Trading Cup last night at the Ayala North Gym in Talisay City.
Ranked No. 3, TCB had to beat second seed Case 1H twice for the right to face top seed Brixton in the best-of- three championship series.
TCB raced to an early 10-point lead in the first half behind Andrei Dadivas' 18 points in the first quarter.
Case 1H's Joshua Co then teamed up with Chac Mirano and Popoy Jamero in the third period to erase the deficit and ended up leading 68-65 with 12 minutes remaining.
Both teams traded baskets and were still in a deadlock with 8 minutes left but Dadivas and Robby Jalandoon immediately hit back- to- back triples to put TCB up by six. It was enough to break the backs of the fighting Case 1H squad and eventually cruised to victory.
Dadivas paced TCB with 26 points, Jalandoon had 12 while Efraim Valencia and Luigi Coo finishes with 10 points each. Axo Yao, Paul Ortaliz, and Bren Tajonera combined for 21 points.
Co led Case1H with 19 points, Jobert Julita added 15 as Mirano and Jamero contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively. Nikol Medina chipped in 9 while Marcos Escalante finished with 7 points.*
