NPC dominates KBP-Negros
in Media Fellowship Bowlfest

Negros Press Club Bowling Team won in all three categories against the Kapisanan Ng MgaBrodkasterssaPilipinas to bag the overall championship in 2017 Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Casino-Filipino) sponsored NPC-KBP Media Bowling Fellowship Games Saturday at the Negros Super Lanes and Entertainment Center in Bacolod City.

It was a sweet revenge for the NPC Team after bowing to KBP-Negros in basketball and volleyball competitions during the “Congressman Greg Gasataya Cup” Media Games last month.

At the Super Lanes Saturday, the Renato “Boy” Duran-led NPC Team - A crushed the Bert Pabulayan-anchored KBP – A in two games, 450-439, and 447-380 to win the division title.

The two teams battled evenly in the first half of the game but Duran's group converted more points in the final half for the win.

Carrying the colors for the champion squad were Duran, Arman Toga, Boy Ciocon, Rommel Galvan, Ruben Dellima and WeenaMagturo, while Pabulayan, James Soquia, Grace Supe, ElmarBayanbayan, and Felix C played for KBP.

In Group B, NPC Team composed of James Henry Toga, Martian Muyco, Dolly Yasa, Rex Cantong, Jerome Galunan, Raquel Gariando, ShielaGelera, and Harold Magturosimilarly beat their KBP opponents in two games, 842-802 to clinch the championship.

Fred Salanga, Mark Gabriel Salanga, Carick D, Bonard, Jude Bonban and CharoBendanillo played for the losing KBP Team B.

In Group C competition, Team NPC once again outplayed their counterparts from KBP, 839-818, to complete the sweept.

The members of Group C winning team were HenceboyCestina, Buddy Ferrer, GlazylMasculino, Mae Maranon, Manny Canto and Archie Alipalo, while Jerry Majordo, Edmund Aspero, Alvin Grava, Joh Dale, Ish F., Grace Supe and Grace T settled for the first runner-up honors.

In the individual contest, Mae Maranon scored 82pinfalls to win the women's highest pinning award, while John Dale Salazar of KBP knocked down 86 in the men's division to go home with the same prize. Dolly Yasa of NPC registered the highest single record with 105.

Team NPC bet Ruben Dellima and ElmarBayanbayan of KBP shared the men's highest single award after tallying an identical 104 points.

Bayanbayanwas also the record holder in the men's double with 207, while WeenaMagturoNPCestablished the women's double with 187, surpassing the record of Yasa with 186.

PAGCOR acting branch manager RaymundGatuslao expressed his gratitude to the local media for letting PAGCOR help in the events.

“We are just here to support you in whatever way we can to help the media,” Gatuslao said.

NPC president Duran thanked Gatuslao for facilitating PAGCOR's sponsorship for the medial bowling tournament.
