Four members of a family were killed when their vehicle was pinned down by a cargo truck loaded with sugarcane in Purok Malipayon, Brgy. Antipuluan, Bago City, Negros Occidental, at about 2 p.m. yesterday.
All the victims were declared dead on arrival at the Bago City District Hospital , almost two hours after their bodies were retrieved from their Hyundai Eon, Senior Inspector Jerry Nacion, deputy Bago City police chief, said.
Initial investigation of the Bago City police showed that the Hyundai Eon driven by Romulo Espinosa, 59, with three passengers, his wife, Josephine, 53, daughter, Christine, and a grandson Tatoy, 6, was on its way to La Carlota City, when the accident took place.

Benitez guest speaker at
39th confab of real estate brokers
Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3 rd District) is the invited guest speaker today at the 39th Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines Inc. national convention, that is ongoing at L'Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City, REBAP president Rhoneil Mercado said.
He added they invited the solon as he is the chairman of the House Committee on Housing, a press release said.
