Bullet-riddled body
of rob suspect found

The hogtied bullet-ridden body of an alleged robbery group member, was found in a sugarcane field at Hacienda Luisa in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, at about 6:30 a.m. yesterday.

A placard attached to the body stated in the Hiligaynon dialect, that he is Tabby, a member of the Aki Cuadra Group, drug pusher, hold-upper, and carnapper who strikes in Bacolod and nearby cities.

The man had gunshot wounds on his chest and right arm, his hands and feet were tied with duct tape, and his face was covered with a plastic bag. He also had a tattoo, saying “If you don't know me, don't judge me”. moremoremore

Three alleged members of a robbery group were arrested in Purok Riverside, Barangay Bata in Bacolod City, last night.

Those nabbed were Johnny Villarete, 31, Alvin Jimenez, 25, and Paul Martin Duque, 22, all of Purok Riverside, Barangay Bata.

Senior Supt. Jack Wanky, acting Bacolod policedirector, said the suspects were members of the robbery group headed by Arnold Cuadra, alias "Aki". moremoremore

Army tries to ‘zero in'
on location of rebels

The Philippine Army continues its combat operations and intelligence monitoring to pinpoint the exact location of New People's Army rebels, who had claimed responsibility for the ambush-slay of six policemen and a civilian in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, last month, Maj. Gen. Jon Aying, 3rd Infantry Division commander, said.

“We are now trying to zero in on their exact location, for us to get them,” he added.

The Leonardo Panaligan Command of the NPA, who claimed responsibility for the ambush of the Guihulngan policemen, also reported to have confiscated 17 firearms..
