Isabela mayor passes away

Isabela Mayor Enrique "Quito" Montilla III, 57, succumbed to a heart attack at noon of Maundy Thursday, his wife Dr. Irene Consunji Montillasaid yesterday.

He complained that he was not feeling well and was rushed to the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital in Bacolod City by ambulance where efforts to resuscitate him failed, his wife, who was with him, said.

She said that while her husband had a kidney condition that required dialysis since July 2015, he was pretty much the same, so the cardiac arrest came quite suddenly and unexpectedly. moremoremore

2 ‘carnappers' nabbed in
port of Dumaguete

Attempts to deliver a carnapped vehicle from Manila to a buyer in Mindanao was foiled by a joint team of operatives in Negros Oriental recently, after the Highway Patrol Group, headed by Senior Insp. Robelito Mariano, received a call from Task Force Limbas in Camp Crame.

Mariano said the black Toyota Fortuner V2015 model, registered in the name of Luzviminda Salvador Pine, of Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, and bearing plate no. AMA 6287 and conduction sticker YI 8788, was carnapped in Manila few days ago, and its last location was tracked in Amlan, Negros Oriental.

Dumaguete City police chief, Supt. Jovito Atanacio, the HPG, the Special Weapons and Tactics headed by Insp. Efren Moldez which was deployed at the port of Dumaguete, and the Philippine Ports Authority police, through Venerando Cerbito, as well as the Philippine Coast Guard headed by station commander, Lt Junior Grade Donna Liza Ramacho, immediately set-up a blocking force to monitor the entry of the vehicle at the port area.
