Ceres FC faces Loyola in bid
to secure No. 2 spot in UFL

Its now or never for Ceres-La Salle FC as they try to secure the second spot against a resurgent Loyola Meralco FC, 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The Bacolod squad, coming off an added time loss against Kaya FC, is also keen to launch a last ditch attempt on the title as Global lost against JP Voltes in midweek action.

The Busmen has had a disappointing stretch of results in the second round after losing against Green Archers, Kaya, and drawing with Stallion. The loss of points dampened the squads' title aspirations and opening the door for other teams to get ahead in the table.

Beermen, Gin Kings
eye semis in Gov's Cup

San Miguel and Ginebra will try to book the first two spots in the PBA Governors' Cup semifinals as they battle separate foes at the official start of the quarterfinal round tonight at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The second-seeded Beermen take on the seventh-seeded NLEX Road Warriors in the first game at 4:15 p.m., while the third-seeded Barangay Ginebra Kings collide with the sixth-seeded Alaska Aces, 7 p.m., in the other quarterfinal action.

Armed with a twice-to-beat advantage, SMB and Ginebra only need to beat once NLEX and Alaska to ensure their spots in the next round, which could begin as early as Monday depending on how the quarterfinal pairings will end up.
