Poor anti-drug drive performance cited

Four more police chiefs in Negros Occidental are due for relief because of poor performance in the anti-drug campaign in their areas.

This was revealed yesterday by Senior Supt. William Señoron, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, after the validation of their anti-drug campaign Friday and the assessment of the performance of the 31 police chiefs in Negros Occidental.

Señoron, however, withheld the names of the affected police chiefs, pending issuance of their orders, that are expected soon. moremoremore

The five-day 31 st Negros Trade Fair (NTF) at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City ended last night with sales hitting P19.2 million, Association of Negros Producers president Christina Gaston said.

She described the trade fair as the biggest promotional event for Negros, and a way for participating exhibitors to be individual ambassadors of the province.

The NTF is a platform for veteran and beginner Negros Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to connect to a wider audience and validate their products in the market, she said. . moremoremore

Mayor acts on traffic
jams in Dumaguete

Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Remollo said there are enough existing laws that, if implemented, would significantly ease traffic jams in city streets.

He is determined to come up with a traffic scheme acceptable to all stakeholders that will ease the burden of the motoring public, with the full backing of a team of professionals, like Faisal Alih, Ramon del Prado, Flormilo Avenido, Konrad Villaluz, Efren Padilla, Mikhail Maxino, Val Vinarao and Umbel Grefaldia.
