NOPSSCEA elementary, high school
volleyball competitions start Saturday

St. John's Institute players will be defending their crowns in the elementary and secondary girls' divisions of the NOPSSCEA Season 36 volleyball competition that kicks off at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Covered Courts Saturday.

College, aspirants and 10-Under tournaments are scheduled in the second semester, tournament officials said.

Eyeing the title in their respective category this school year are 7 teams in elementary boys category, 19 teams in elementary girls, 18 squads in secondary boys, and 33 schools in secondary girls.

It was the first victory for Kenny Rogers cagers over their rivals as Chicken Deli won both matchups during the elimination round.

But the win could have not come at the best time for the Roasters as they hope to clinch the championship tonight in Game 2.

win in 2 nd Conference opener

JSY Transport routed AACI Trading, 96-75, while Royal Star Trading trounced AACI Transport, 83-71, to kick off their respective campaign in the Fil-Sino Basketball All Asia Countetrade Inc. 2nd conference Inter-Color Tournament Monday night at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Mark Binguan sizzled with six triples in the second quarter to give JSY Transport a commanding 54-32 halftime advantage with support from teammates Xerxes Jaranilla and Pao Pao Lim, who combined for 17 points.

Sustaining AACI Trading's offense after two quarters were Ritchie Militante, who tallied 9 points, and Clarence Quingco and Caesar Noble , who delivered 5 points each.
