Children's park to
be inaugurated

A children's park will be inaugurated Sept. 9 as highlight of the opening of the 3 rd Panublion Festival of Isabela town in Negros Occidental, Mayor Enrique Montilla III said.

He said the park is located at the Remegio Montilla site at the left side of the Socio-Cultural Center, and will feature a merry-go round, a train and other rides that the children can enjoy together with their families, a press release said.

He stressed it is part of his administration's objectives to make Isabela a child and family friendly locality.

Also in the drawing board is a mall, to be located near the children's park.

The Panubli-on Festival is a joint undertaking between the municipal government under Montilla and the local church that will also mark the 155 th Patronal Feast of Saint Nicolas de Tolentino.

A fun run will kick off the fiesta celebration Friday, followed by a zumba and “larong lahi” at the gazebo.

As part of the fiesta celebration, bump cars were placed at the covered court for children and adults.

The first day will also be highlighted with a boodle fight at the main street, fronting the church and extending up to the gazebo, that would cater to 2,000 persons.

In case of inclement weather, it will be transferred to the covered court.

The second day activities will kick off with a Diana, followed by a concelebrated mass and a drum and lyre exhibition. In the afternoon, there will be a street dancing competition followed by the ABS-CBN show with Joshua Garcia of the Pinoy Big Brother reality show invited to entertain the crowd.

It will be capped off with a fireworks display and live band.*
