So far, 17 out of the 32 Negros Occidental mayors have signified their intention to join the PDP Laban of President Rodrigo Duterte, while the majority of those belonging to the Nationalist People's Coalition and National Unity Party are opting not to leave.

Fish landing centers
eyed in 6 NegOr LGUs
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in Region 7 is eyeing the construction of community fish landing centers in six local government units in Negros Oriental.

BFAR-7 director Andres Bojos said each community fish landing center will cost P3 million, and he urged the officials of Guihulngan City, Siaton, Amlan, Dumaguete, Sta. Catalina and Bayawan to put up their counterparts, by providing the land where the center will be put up.

Bojos lamented that the implementation of livelihood projects are delayed due to bickering and politicking between the office of the chief executive and the sanggunian. He said these livelihood projects are intended for the poorest of the poor fishermen, adding he was told that some mayors had a hard time having a memorandum of agreement approved by the sanggunian, including the authority for the mayor to sign the MOA. moremoremore
