PCG asks for more K-9 units,
Neg. Or. on heightened alert
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Security forces in Dumaguete City and Negros Oriental are on heightened alert, following the declaration of a state of lawlessness by President Rodrigo Duterte after the fatal Davao bombing Friday.

Coast Guard station commander, Lt Junior Grade Analiza Ramacho, has requested for augmentation of their K-9 units in Cebu for deployment in the port of Dumaguete, and the sub-port in Tandayag, Amlan, that has jurisdiction of the wharves in Sibulan, Looc and Tampi.

These areas badly need the K-9 units in the absence of x-ray machines and scanners unlike in the main port of Dumaguete where CCTV cameras are installed everywhere, aside from the x-ray machine to detect the presence or entry of contraband items, like firearms and explosives from Mindanao.
