BIR probes scam, reshuffling looms
Dulay pretender calls
Negros taxpayers, too

BY CARLA GOMEZ

The Bureau of Internal Revenue is investigating a scam involving a person impersonating BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay, and bureau personnel who released confidential information about top taxpayers, including some in Negros, Deputy Commissioner Jesus Clint Aranas said yesterday.

There will be a reshuffling of BIR officials in the regions because of this, he said.

Aranas, who is a Negrense, said it has come to the attention of the BIR that a certain individual, representing himself as Dulay, has been calling its Regional and District Offices for confidential information and the names of the top 20 taxpayers within their jurisdictions, which were released in several instances. moremoremore
