The Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City launched its P38 million modern technology Stone Center yesterday.

The Stone Center houses the lithotripsy machine, the latest design of the German technology company Storz Medical, that uses extracorporeal shock wave to pulverize kidney stones without undergoing any open surgery.

Recruiter victimizes 211: PNP

At least 211 persons from towns and cities in Negros Occidental and Oriental, were allegedly victimized by an illegal recruiter who promised them advertising jobs and trainings in Bacolod City, which they later found out to be fictitious.

Dyanne (not her real name), 21, of Sipalay City in Negros Occidental, one of the complainants who went to Police Station 2 yesterday afternoon, said they paid P2,000 each to the owner of company Symplex Outsourcing Advertising, whom she identified as Christian E. Chavez.

The P2,000 is for the enrollment, training fee, and advertising certificate, she said. .moremoremore

Minor daughter of ‘pusher'
killed in drug buy-bust, too

A 4-year-old girl died at a hospital in Dumaguete City around noon yesterday after fighting for her life since Tuesday evening when she was hit by police gunfire during an anti-illegal drugs operation against her father in Guihulngan, Negros Oriental.

She was identified as Althea Fhem Barbon, the daughter of Aldrick Barbon of Barangay Poblacion, Guihulngan, who was the subject of the police buy-bust operation.

Aldrick, who was declared dead on arrival at the Guihulngan District Hospital, was tagged as the No. 5 personality in the drugs watchlist of the city police...
