Dengue cases in Negros Occidental have surpassed the epidemic threshold with 3,431 this year, Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, provincial health officer, said yesterday.

There have also been 16 deaths in Negros Occidental and 8 in Bacolod City this year.

The Negros Occidental Sanggunian yesterday approved the allocation of P2 million to be used in the fight against dengue.
