Dry run set for
closure of city roads

A traffic dry run is set today for the road closure at the Lacson Tourism Strip in Bacolod City, in anticipation of the Electric MassKara and other activities tomorrow up to Sunday.

The partial closure will start at 2 p.m. and total closure at 4 p.m., Supt. LuisitoAcebuche, head of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office, said yesterday.

Vehicles going north of the city and travelling on LacsonStreet will have to pass through Burgos Street going east to Hilado, Lopez Jaena, North Drive and the Circumferential road, Acebuche said.

He said the traffic plan is in line with the security plan of the Bacolod City Police Office. The 12th, 14th, 16th, and 18th streets will be the entry and exit points of revelers for frisking.

While the 13th, 15th and 17 th that will be used for vehicles up to Aguinaldo Street, Acebuche said.

He urged the public, if possible, to just ride public utility vehicles and leave their cars to avoid the heavy traffic during the highlights.

Public vehicles can pass through the Capitol Lagoon, while private vehicles will be held, unless they have a certification or letter from the Silver MassKaraFestival Organization, allowing them to enter, Acebuche said.

Car owners or residents of 8th, 9th 12th, 14th, 15th and 16th streets shall secure a certification that they are living in the area so they can enter, he said.

Vehicles going north of Lacsonshould turn left of Cottage Road, right to Gatuslao, right of North Capitol Road, left of Aguinaldo, right to BS Aquino, all the way to destination, Acebuche said.

Southbound vehicles should turn right of BS Aquino, left of Gatuslao, right to Burgos, left to Palanca, left to Luzuriaga, right to San Juan, right to Rosario, left to Yulo, left to Lizares, all the way to destination.*SGG
