JSY Countertrade prevails over
undermanned Transport, 104-92

JSY Countertrade survived an undermanned JSY Transport, 104-92, while Organic Solutions defeated Royal Star Trading, 84-77, during the Oct. 5 schedule of the Fil-Sino Asian Countertrade Inc. 2nd Conference Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

JSY Countertrade recovered from a 26-point hole to outlast a pesky 5-player JSY Transport.

Despite being undermanned, Transport surprised Countertrade when four of its players reached double figures at the break led by Pao Pao Lim with 20 points to take a 60-41 lead even as JP Tan dropped 16 points for Countertrade.

JSY Transport extended the lead to 26 points early in the third canto but settled for an 80-71 advantage going into the fourth quarter.

Countertrade's full court press proved to be disruptive as Marc Lo, Nico Lopingco and Badong Eufre combined for 26 points in the run.

JSY Transport finally yielded the lead in the last three minutes of the game due to injury and fatigue while Countertrade continued to ride on their fast break attacks to finish strong. Brix Arrobang and Badong Eufre combined for 19 points.

Lo paced Countertrade with 23 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists while Arrobang added 20 points, Eufre made 18, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Lopingco shot 17 points, 7 boards and 5 dimes and Alex Fernandez with 7 points and 7 assists.

Lim finished with 37 points and 15 rebounds while , Tubby Villanueva tallied 23 points, 8 boards and 4 assists, Xerxes Jaranilla produced 17 points, Johann Villanueva with 15, and Stephen Tan with 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

In the curtain raiser, Sean Wee scored 14 points and Chief Supt. Adonis Rosales added 7 to put Royal Star Trading ahead in the first quarter, 23-18, against Brian Coo with 16 points for Organic.

Ervin Tan scored 12 points, and Alvin Dionela added 8 points to grab the lead for good by halftime, 44-36.

Omar Galunan and Wee combined for 11 points for to cut the lead to 64-59.

Wee continued to carry the brunt of the offense with 12 points for Royals but the timely 3-point shooting of Dionela and Jeremy Coo nailed the victory for Organic.

Dionela topscored for Organic Solutions with 23 points, Brian Coo shot 19, Kako Lacson hit 11 points. and Bren Tajonera with 8 points.

Wee finished with a game-high 31 points, Carlo Chu added 10, Galunan had 6 points and 6 rebounds and Ralph Ong with 6 points and 12 boards.*
