Antique guv appeals
BY NIDA BUENAFE
Antique Gov. Rhodora Cadiao yesterday appealed to sugar planters to treat the sacadas or the migrant workers from Antique well, saying she has received reports that some of them stay in quarters not suited for human living.
Cadiao, who was in Bacolod City with her team from the provincial Social Welfare and Health offices, said she visited the sacadas from Antique who work in sugarfields in the cities of Bacolod, Talisay and Silay.
Tropical storm "Marce" did not deter protestors yesterday from staging a Black Friday rally in Bacolod City to call on President Rodrigo Duterte to end his alliance with the Marcos family.
“This protest is being staged to give notice to the Duterte administration to end its political rehabilitation of the Marcos family,” Bayan Negros secretary general Christian Tuayon said at the rally held in front of the Fountain of Justice at Araneta Street.
The Bayan-led rally joined by about 100 rain–drenched protestors wearing black T-shirts began with a march from the San Sebastian Cathedral as part of the National Day of Unity and Rage against the burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at the LibinganngmgaBayani, Tuayon said.
