Multiple-vehicle crash
leaves 2 dead, 4 hurt

Two motorists were killed, while four others, including three members of a family, were injured, in a head-on collision, where one of the vehicles caught fire at about 5:45 a.m. yesterday at the airport access road in Brgy. Efigenio Lizares in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The Talisay City police said the Racal motorcycle driven by Jessie Servano, 24, with two passenger identified as Wilmar Catanaman and Edmund Sanao, were on their way to Bacolod City, when they figured in the multiple collision of vehicles.

Supt. Adonis Rosales, Talisay City police chief, said yesterday that Servano, who was believed to be driving his motorcycle fast, overtook a taxi and Chevrolet Aveo vehicle driven by Anando Eso. moremoremore

Protests vs. Marcos

A black coffin being dragged by the devil will be part of a protest in Bacolod City at 1 p.m. today against the clandestine burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig, Metro Manila, Friday.

The coffin represents that of Marcos, who, despite the plunder of the nation and countless human rights abuses during his reign, was allowed to be buried at the LNMB, journalist Edgar Cadagat, president of the Claims Assistance Processing Office/Mothers and Relatives Against Tyranny,said yesterday.

Cadagat, who was jailed during Martial Law, said about 300 of the thousands of ML victims in Negros Occidental during the Marcos regime will gather at the Rizal Elementary School at noon for a march to Fountain of Justice at Araneta Street in Bacolod City for the rally. moremoremore

Sexagenarian shot dead

A sexagenarian died of multiple gunshot wounds after two unidentified suspects fired at him at around 12:23 p.m. yesterday in Barangay Binalbagan, Canlaon City in Negros Oriental.

A police report identified the victim as Anias Romano Luceno, 64, married and of Barangay Binalbagan, Canlaon City.

Initial police investigation revealed that two suspects wearing bonnets and who were on board a motorcycle shot the victim several times for a still undetermined motive..
