Fruit prices expected to decrease

Vendors predict a decrease in the prices of some fruits in season in the coming week, at the Central Market in Bacolod City.

Sarguelas (sineguelas) is now sold at P100 per kilo from P150, santol and singkamas at P40 per kilo from P60, and avocado at P60 per kilo from P80, vendor Aming Deopita, of the Bacolod City Central Market, said.

She said watermelons are now sold at P30 per kilo and kamonsil (camachile) at P180 per kilo from P220.

She also said the prices of the first batch of incoming fruits in season such as lumboy (duhat), atis and lanzones, will not yet decrease in a few weeks.

The price of lanzones increased from P120 to P150 per kilo, while atis remains at P120.*KBC
