Find Jesus true
model, bets urged

San Carlos Bishop Gerardo Alminaza yesterday said as the Christian world celebrates Holy Week he prays that the candidates for the May 9 polls find in Jesus a true model of what a leader should be.

Alminaza pointed out that Jesus leads by example, never asking us to do anything He himself is not willing to do.

“He walks His talk, is prepared to lay down His life for us to the point of abandonment on the cross,” Alminaza said of Christ.

He asked if the candidates running for office can be a unifying force to bring different groups to work together for the common good.

“Can you recognize in the cry of the poor and the cry of the earth the passion of Jesus Christ? Can you make decisions in view of the common good, especially those in the margins and those who for the longest time are excluded?” Alminaza asked.*CPG
