The police are still waiting for the result of an autopsy on the body of a certified public accountant, who was found dead in his car in front of the Ayala construction site at San Juan Street in Barangay 8, Bacolod City, Friday.
Chief Insp. Dianne Grace Catedral, Bacolod City Police Office public information officer, said that they are eyeing a suspect in the death of the 75-year-old victim, whose name the DAILY STAR withheld on request of the family.
However, they are not closing the possibility that another suspect may surface during the investigations, Catedral said.
The victim was found dead and naked in the trunk of his car, that was abandoned at the Ayala construction site at San Juan Street, at about 11 p.m. Friday, a police report said.
He was covered with a white blanket, while a white towel owned by an apartelle was wrapped around his mouth and he was hogtied with a white pillow case, police records show.
The family members of the victim, who met with the policemen yesterday for a case conference, are willing to help in the investigation as they want justice for the death of their kin, Catedral said.
She said the police already requested for copies of closed-circuit television camera footages at an apartelle in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod, which could have captured the faces of the suspect/s.
Robbery is being eyed as motive in the incident since the cellular phone and wallet of the victim are missing, Catedral said.
There is also a possibility that the victim had withdrawn money from an ATM machine before the incident, Catedral said.
The police already have a lead on the identity of the suspect, but they refuse to divulge more details so as not to hamper the investigation.
The suspect may face charges for murder with robbery, Catedral said.*SGG
