PNP drug watch list executed

A suspected drug supplier in northern Negros was shot and killed Thursday by riding-in-tandem suspects in Calatrava, Negros Occidental, in what has been described as another incident of extra-judicial killing.

The killing of Habib Into, 49, of Ylagan Street, Brgy. 5, San Carlos City, along the highway of Hacienda Cubay, Brgy. Refugio, Calatrava, came several hours after the body of a victim of summary execution was dumped by still unidentified suspects in Brgy. Zone 15, Talisay City.

Habib succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, and died, while being transported to a hospital, Police Officer 1 Resty Sevilleno, case investigator of the Calatrava police, said.

P210,000 in shabu
seized in two towns

The successive buy-bust operations of the police Thursday and yesterday in Himamaylan City and Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, led to the arrest of five suspects and the seizure of about P210,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Teodolfo Gimotea III, who ranked number seven in the drug watch list of the police, was arrested during a buy-bust operation Thursday in Brgy. Nabali-an, Himamaylan City.

Supt. Antonietto Cañete, Himamaylan City police chief, said the arrest of Gimotea, alias Dopong, yielded an estimated 16 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P160,000 at P10,000 per gram, P200 in marked money and a homemade .22 caliber magnum revolver with three live ammunition..moremoremore

Lawyer out on bail
for drugs shot dead

A lawyer was shot dead by suspects riding in tandem on a motorcycle in Sitio Laguna, Barangay Looc in Dumaguete City, at about 10:20 a.m. yesterday.

Acting chief of police, Supt. Jovito Atanacio, identified the victim as lawyer Rex Agan Perewperew, 38, of Sta. Monica Road in Barangay Banilad, Dumaguete, and who was from Siquijor.

He was shot three times in the back while on board a tricycle, with body number 1699, driven by Eusebio Ceriales. The suspects then overtook the tricycle on the right side of the road and again shot the victim, nearly hitting the driver.moremoremore
