Banago fire victims
get donations

The Rotary Club of Bacolod East, headed by its president Elsie Jolingan, donated used clothes and biscuits to fire victims in Purok Langis, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City, Thursday, its press release said.

They were welcomed by Barangay Captain Arnel Benjamin, some of his kagawads, and social worker Bernadette Fuentes of the Department of Social Services and Development of the city government.

Jolingan was with Bacolod Councilor Sonya Verdeflor, who is also the Rotary-East assistant governor, past president Rafael Golez, Belinda Villa, Elnora Abaygar, and Rotarian Phillip Araneta, among others.

There were 36 families who were victims of the early morning fire on July 21.

Benjamin met with the officers and members of the club, and said residents with destroyed houses will receive P10,000, P5,000 for damaged homes, and P3,000 for sharers, the press release added.*
