The Army's 303rd Infantry Brigade is marking its 30 th founding anniversary today with the giving of honors to its peace and development partners in Negros island, at Camp Gerona in Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Col. Francisco Delfin, 303rd IB commander, said he salutes their active partners in the implementation of the Internal Peace and Security Plan “Bayanihan”, which advocates the “Whole Nation” approach in addressing the internal security challenges in Negros Occidental.
Last year, the provinces of Negros Oriental and Occidental were declared as peaceful and ready for further development by their local officials, and concurred by the Philippine Army.
The anniversary theme is “30 Years of Serving and Securing the People across the Land”.
The 303rd IB, which was reorganized as a provisional brigade of the Army's 3ID on July 1, 1996, returned to Negros island on Aug. 22, 1998, after more than three years of stint in Mindanao.
Brig. Gen. Harold Cabreros, 3ID commanding general, and Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., are among the guests during the anniversary rites.*GPB
