P123M budget okd

          The Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved two supplemental budgets, totaling P123.5 million, on second and third reading yesterday, Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said.

          The amount included an initial P5 million requested by Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. for the rehabilitation of indigent former drug dependents in Negros Occidental, he said.

          Lacson said the P5 million is just a start, the Negros Occidental provincial government is doing its share in the fight against the use of illegal drugs.

      The SP approved the P32,988,898 Supplemental Budget No. 2 of the Economic Enterprise Development Department of the province of Negros Occidental, and the P90,561,355 Supplemental Budget No. 3, Board Member Salvador Escalante, SP Committee on Finance chairman, said.

          Escalante said the P28 million from the proposed P32.9 million supplemental budget of EEDD  will be transferred to the general fund.

          Of the P90.5 million supplemental budget 3 of the province, P20 million has been allocated to grants and donations, and P15 million for the purchase of land for the construction of the Philippine Science High School, among others.*CPG
