Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative I general manager Jose Juvileo Acabal said the power situation in Mabinay town is expected to normalize by the second week of August.
He said that currently, the power situation in Mabinay is unstable after the transformer in their substation broke down.
Originally, the municipality is connected to the Mabinay-Bayawan National Grid Power Corporation transmission line but because of the problem in the sub-station, the town is sourcing electricity from the electric cooperative’s sub-station in Bindoy town at present.
He noted that right now, Mabinay is prone to outages and power service interruptions. The electric cooperative already met with its contractor, who commited to repair the damaged transformer within one month.*RG
