Sibulan mayor
dies of heart attack

Sibulan Mayor Emmanuel “Maning” Diputado suffered a heart attack early yesterday morning and died at around 7 a.m. at the Silliman University Medical Center Foundation in Dumaguete City.

Reports said he was rushed to the hospital by Mabinay Mayor Django Uy, after he suffered a heart attack. Diputado was first elected councilor, then vice-mayor and mayor. He was single and is survived by his family.

A Facebook post from former Board Member Erwin Macias said, “Lost a good friend today…He was known as a councilor, vice mayor, mayor of Sibulan…but to me, he was a real good friend”.

John Rey Baro Basi said, “The whole municipality of Sibulan is in mourning for the death of our good friend, Mayor Emanuel “Maning” Diputado. Thank you for the friendship and advice mayor. Thank you for granting me a scholarship. Thank you for the hospitality and kindness. We your people in Sibulan will never forget you in our hearts. You may rest in peace Maning”.
