Beware of the proliferation of fake cigarets.
Cigaret counterfeiters and smugglers are now creeping into Bacolod City as shown by more reports of fake cigarettes with fake tax stamps being sold openly in several stores coming up.
The warning came from the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, after the recent confiscation of several boxes of counterfeit Marlboro, Jackpot, Camel and Marvels cigarette brands.
Police investigations show cigaret counterfeiters were also monitored to be targeting sari-sari stores outside Bacolod City, to escape scrutiny, with fake cigarets mixed with genuine ones.

End to contractualization seen
The General Alliance of Workers Associations is expecting President Rodrigo Duterte to reiterate his goals for the labor sector, including wage increases and the ending of contractualization in his first State of the Nation Address next week.
Wennie Sancho, GAWA secretary-general, yesterday said Anakpawis party-list Rep. Ariel Casilao has already filed a bill seeking to abolish contractualization or “endo” that needs to be prioritized in the 17 th Congress.
Sancho said the House Bill will consider workers and employees of a contractor or subcontractor as employees of the actual employer if the work done is “necessary and desirable for the business of the employer.”
