The Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan yesterday approved on first reading the proposed 2016 supplemental budget number 3 of P90,561,355, and supplemental budget number 2 of its Economic Enterprise Development Department of P32,988,898.
Board Member Salvador Escalante, chairperson of the SP committee on Finance, who moved for its passage on first reading, said there will a committee hearing on July 27 to deliberate on the proposed appropriations listed in the two supplemental budgets.
Escalante confirmed that the proposed P5 million allocation for the rehabilitation of indigent former drug dependents in Negros Occidental has been included in the supplemental budget number 3 of the province of Negros Occidental.
Members of the SP Finance committee are scheduled to deliberate on the appropriations listed in the two supplemental budgets on July 27, before it will be passed on second and third reading, respectively.
Escalante said the P28 million from the proposed P32.9 million supplemental budget of EEDD will be transferred to the general fund.
Of the P90.5 million supplemental budget 3 of the province, P20 million has been allocated to grants and donations, P15 million for the purchase of land for the construction of Philippine Science High School, among others.*GPB
