Chicken Deli 888 wins over Roasters

Schulze flies high with 30 to power Chicken Deli 888 win over Roasters.

Chicken Deli 888 used a dominant second half for a come-from- behind victory over defending champion Kenny Rogers/Black Mamba at the opening of the ABC-ENCLAVES Cup at the Ayala Northpoint Clubhouse in Talisay City Monday night.

Hans Schulze led Chicken Deli 888 with 30 points as he did most of the damage in the pivotal third quarter for the 90-78 triumph.

Kenny Rogers/Black Mamba started strong in the first half, leading by as much as 18 at one point courtesy of Fredel Doromal's team-high 12 points on 6 of six shooting and Errol Ledesma's 9-point first quarter output.

Things changed dramatically in the second half, however, as Schulze powered his way to 18 third quarter points, cutting the Roasters lead to just a point coming into the payoff period.

The game was closely contested after the first three minutes of the final half but Chicken Deli unleashed an 8-0 run to stretch its lead to 9 points and never looked back since then.

Chicken Deli got scoring support from Arjay Jamero, who finished with 17 points.

Dante Ma added 13, while Mark Carmona and Nikol Medina had 11 and 9 points, respectively.

Marlon Parreno, Mark Jomalesa, Willy Dasal and Pepe Balladares combined for another 10 points. Reygin Oquiana and Ledesma chipped in 11 apiece, while Robby Jalandoon and Snook Versoza finished in double figures with 10 points each.

Bren Tajonera, Luigi Coo, Bong Quinon, Chac Mirano pooled in 20 points, while Gerard Benedicto and Neilbert Alvarez had 2 points each in their losing cause.*
