The Negros Oriental II Electric Cooperative will hold its 37th annual general membership assembly on October 2 in Dumaguete City, and via a video link system in Bayawan City.
The event's theme is “MCOs gathered as one in embracing the challenges; gearing towards the sustainability of the cooperative and the power industry,” and the cooperative is inviting all member-customer-owners to participate.
MCOs are requested to present their Taxpayer Identification Number and their Noreco II ID or any government issued ID during registration on the day of the AGMA, a press release from the cooperative said.
As an electric cooperative registered under the Cooperative Development Authority, the taxpayer identification number is necessary for the cooperative to continue to avail of the tax-exemption accorded by the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
Because of the tax exemption, Noreco II is exempted from paying various taxes and as a result of this exclusion, the power rates of the coop are lower.*JFP/PR
