BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The Valencia City Police Station is on alert following a shooting incident Tuesday, and the reported presence of vigilante groups in the town.

Valencia police officer-in-charge, Chief Insp. Alfonso Enriquez, said there are reports that vigilante groups are operating in the municipality to run after drug pushers, after Bryan Piñero, who is listed as among the top 5 drug personalities in the town, was injured in a shooting incident Tuesday.

Enriquez said he is saddened that during the shooting, students Reannedela Torre and Faith Que were hit by stray bullets while waiting for a ride to school. Piñero, dela Torre and Que are recuperating in two hospitals in the city. ..
