Drug surrenderees hit 7,538

The number of “drug users and pushers” in Negros Oriental, who have surrendered to the police this month at the height of relentless police operations, has reached 7,538.

The Philippine National Police in Negros Oriental showed that the latest figure was from July 1-17, a report from the Amigo Cops Negros Oriental Text Blast project said yesterday.

The surrenderees in police stations included Canlaon City with 184, or 177 users and seven pushers, Vallehermoso 176 (175/1), Guihulngan City 846 (830/16), La Libertad 316 (308/8), Jimalalud 125 (121/4), Tayasan 128 (124/4), Ayungon 251 (208/43), Bindoy 71 (65/6), Manjuyod 30 (27/3);

Mabinay 455 (441 users and 14 pushers), Bais City 375 (302/73), Tanjay City 599 (570/29), Pamplona 224 (221/13), Amlan 255 users, San Jose 313 (309/4), Sibulan 1,000 (992/8), Dumaguete City 603 (546/57), Valencia 248 (244/4), Bacong 354 (348/6), Dauin 230 (228/2), Zamboanguita 186 users, Siaton 577 (573/4), Sta. Catalina 83 (75/8), Bayawan City 252 users, and the Basay Police Station with 68 surrenderees, or 62 ushers and six pushers.

The pushers and users voluntarily surrendered through the Project Double Barrel and Oplan TokHang through the continuous effort, support and guidelines of PNP provincial director, Senior Supt. Nestor Tiempo.

This is aligned with the objectives of President Rodrigo Duterte and PNP chief, Director General Ronald Dela Rosa, to eradicate the illegal drugs problem in the country.*JFP
