Young taekwondo jins from the NTU Tigers club brought home several medals after joining the 2016 Smart National Poomsae Taekwondo Championships recently held in Manila.
Gian Tronco won the gold medal in individual red belt toddler male category while Jamie Hannah Agaloos settled for the silver medal in the female's individual black belt grade school competition.
Ryle Colen Pomares secured the bronze medal in individual red belt toddler male while AJ Patigas, Charlize Philippe Suburdiaga and Nel Trisha Serimogan grabbed another bronze medal in team cadet blackbelt female category.
“It was the first time for the NTU Tigers to join the Smart national poomsae event and we are happy with the results,” NTU Tigers head coach Crystal Pauline Reyes said.
“We left that tournament with a resounding statement that the NTU Tigers is one tough team to watch out for in the coming years,” she added.
Meanwhile, Reyes left for Korea over the weekend for the 2016 Chosun University International Taekwondo Academy in Gwang-Ju Republic of Korea from July 17 to July 25.
The weeklong event in Korea, to be attended by delegates from different countries in the world, will expose the participants to the advanced training on taekwondo kyorugi and poomsae.*NAB
