‘Register to vote early, avoid rush'

Register early, avoid the deadline rush.

This was the appeal yesterday of Negros Occidental Election Supervisor Jessie Suarez with the registration of voters for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections set the start at 8 a.m. today.

The registration of voters will be held starting today until July 30, including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, with no extension, he said.

Voting age for the SK polls will be from 15 to 30 years on the day of the election, and those who can run for SK posts should be 18 to 24 years old.

There will be a gun ban during the election period that will be from October 1 to November 7, Comelec Resolution 10151 furnished the DAILY STAR by Commissioner Rowena Guanzon states.

The filing of certificates of candidacy will be from October 3 to 5, and the campaign period will be from October 21 to 29.

Election Day will be on October 31.*CPG
