Ceres FC streaks past
Archers in UFL, 7-1

Bacolod City-based Ceres-La Salle FC continued their winning run with a 7-1 conquest of Green Archers United FC yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

Lee Jeong Woo opened the scoring in the 28th minute by taking advantage of a weak back pass by the Archers. Adrian Gallardo made it 3-0 before halftime when he headed in a Martin Steuble cross in the 40 th minute and finished a low strike towards the goal in extra time of the first half.

The game was quiet at the start of the second half but Ceres pushed the tempo in the last 15 minutes with a barrage of goals.

Jeffrey Christaens' cross found the back of the net in the 75th followed by Lee's goal from a Manny Ott assist. Nate Burkey would join the scoring fray with a header off an Ott corner.

Christaens scored his second goal on a pass from Steuble to make it 7-0. Green Archers got a consolation goal courtesy of Negrense Gerard Layumas in injury time.

The Busmen are scheduled to face the Global FC on Sunday with the winner of the match topping the first round of the tournament.*ceresfootball.com
