Basketball referees form new group

Basketball referees in Negros Island have formed a group called the Negros Island Basketball Referees Association (NIBRA).

The group, composed of basketball referees from the provinces of Negros Occidental and Oriental, was organized to honor God through officiating an respect for the sport, its mission statement stated.

NIBRA's vision is to have basketball referees and officials who fear God the most and who will give their best in performing their task with honesty, integrity. discipline.

To enhance the skills of its members, the group recently initiated a training with NCAA Deputy Commissioner George Magsino at Bacolod Tay Tung High School. Magsino is also the commissioner of national PRISAA and SCUAA.

Among those who attended the training were NIBRA members Marino Jurado, Alex Apuhin, Fedie Descalsota, Janjan Delfinado, Rio Rubio, Edgar Dequilla, and Tay Tung basketball coach Mark Belangel.*NAB
