Romero, Balontong lead
top 10 players in Master Bowler quest

Felipe Boy Romero Jr. of Negros Occidental High School NOHS Class '71-74 and Josel Balontong of NOHS Batch '97 lead the cast of top 10 players in men and women's category, who are vying for the Master Bowler plum in the 6 th Triangular Bowlfest tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The top 10 players will compete in the 5 p.m. championship game scheduled tomorrow.

Both Romero and Balontong topped their respective category during the elimination round to strengthen their bid for the master's title.

Nine other contenders will challenge them in the two-game contest where the top four qualifiers will vie for the top honor through the up-the-ladder system.

With Romero in the men's bracket are Johanne Genolos (BCNHS Class '80-89); Nonoy Hulguin (BCNHS C'81-89 Combined); Norman Pineda (BCHS C'74); Oscar Clenen (BCHS C'72); Iran Pielago (NOHS C'85); Raymund Galvan (NOHS Batch 2000-Up); Dennis Aguirre (NOHS B'99); Lois Palenge (BCHS C'79), and Arman Chavez (BCHS C'79).

Competing with Balontong in the women's side are Grace Diopenes (NOHS C'91-95 Combined); Carmen Romales (BCHS C'74); Dolores Pabon (NOHS Batch '94); Noralyn Lamis (BCNHS C'80-89); Lea Uy (NOHS C'71-73); Jennifer Jamora (NOHS B'94); Sylvia Del Rosario (NOHS B'81); Rowena Juarez (DLNHS C'75), and Marnie Arante (DLNHS C'77).

Meanwhile, the championship in the team competition is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. on July 17.*HLG
