New NORPPO chief to intensify
campaign versus illegal drugs
BY SHILE GELERA

Senior Supt. Nestor Tiempo, the newly-assumed director of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, will implement “Oplan Wagtang” to intensify further the campaign against illegal drugs.

In the turnover of command ceremony in Bacolod City yesterday, Tiempo said his action plan “Oplan Wagtang” means “Wagtangun natu ang mga criminals, wagtangun natu mga drug lords, wagtangun natu ang mga police scalawags (Let us eliminate criminals, drug lords and police scalawags).”

Tiempo said he has to be aligned with the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte in suppressing criminality and illegal drugs in three to six months.

He added he is eyeing a reshuffling of personnel at NORPPO.

Tiempo expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of the Police Regional Office-18 command group and staff, and he vowed to continue the good programs of his predecessor, Senior Supt. Harris Fama.*SGG
