Business week kicks off,
SMEs' goods up for sale

Twenty small and medium enterprises are now open for sale as the 2016 Bacolod-Negros Business Week, organized by the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry, began at the Robinsons Place fountain area yesterday.

In line with this year's theme, “Moving Up in the Negros Island Region through SMEs,” The 2016 Negros Business Week aims to help local businesses grow, Frank Carbon, regional governor of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Western Visayas and Negros Occidental, said yesterday.

Some of the displays in the exhibit come from the clothing, processed food, home decorations and agricultural sectors. The Negros Occidental Tourism Division is also featuring the various tourist spots in the province through a photo exhibit.

Aside from the weeklong exhibit MBCCI will also holding a sales and marketing seminar with Juanito Tupas Jr. as guest speaker at the Ricardo Hall in L'Fisher Hotel, Bacolod City, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow.

For P800, the seminar participants will learn analysis of revenue, marketing trends, defining the company's vision, reviewing and documenting sales process, and sales and marketing strategies, among others.

“MBCCI provides this opportunity for growth for small businesses by organizing trade fairs and exhibitions in malls and commercial center where local entrepreneurs can display and exhibit their products,” he said.

The Bacolod-Negros Business Week is in partnership with the Neg. Occ. Provincial Government, he also said.*KBC
