Best practices orientation set

The Department of Trade and Industry is inviting micro, small and medium enterprises, local government units, business owners and the academe to attend the free Orientation on the Philippine Quality Award, Phil. Quality Challenge and Sharing of Best Practices on July 12 at 8:30 a.m., at Sugarland Hotel Bacolod City.

The event organized by DTI-Competitiveness Bureau, will feature the previous recipients of PQA who will share their quality strategies, exceptional performance and experiences, DTI-Negros Occidental Director Lea Gonzales said.

PQA is a global competitiveness framework that encourages and engages public and private organizations and other stakeholders to strive and attain organizational excellence, she said.

Another program that will be introduced is the PQC, a simplified version of the PQA framework. PQC is a self assessment and award system aimed at encouraging organizations such as MSMEs on pursuing organizational improvement and performance excellence, she said.

Gonzales said the event is part of a nationwide roadshow by the DTI-CB to urge stakeholders to use best practices in their businesses, and ultimately be nominated and awarded.

Those who wish to confirm their attendance may contact Mae Buaron at (034) 433-0250/434-720 or maebuaron@yahoo.com before July 11.*KBC
