BY SHIELA GELERA

Muslim communities in barangays 31 and Mansiligan in Bacolod City celebrated yesterday the Eid'l Fitr or the end of a month-long fasting during Ramadan.

At Masjid Abu Bkar al Siddiq in Barangay 31, Muslim offered prayers and broke their fast.

At the Al Dhikr Islamic Call and Guidance Center in Barangay Mansilingan, a cow weighing 120 kilos was slaughtered and its meat was cooked and shared among Muslims and non-Muslims, policemen, and several guests.

Imam Omar Betita, head of the worship center, said they prayed for the success of the current administration's campaign in eradicating drugs in the Philippines.

Betita said they are supporting the measures taken by the government on the drug problems and its effect on society, especially the youth.

So far, the Al Dhikr Islamic Call and Guidance Center has more than 6,000 Muslim members, Betita said.*SGG
